A little about me
I am 22 years old, and this is Dreaming of North - my new clothing line!
It might seem small for now, but I have BIG dreams for this page! So many styles, patterns, fabrics, and textures I want to bring to life here.
Sewing and style have been some of my very favorite hobbies for as long as I can remember. I always loved figuring out how many ways I could wear an outfit to make it look different, or how to sew a new piece on so I wouldn’t have to buy anything new. At 16, I began working professionally in the wedding dress alteration business with my sister and mom. I've altered countless beautiful wedding gowns and bridesmaid dresses down to the the perfect size, and I just knew I wanted to create my own beautiful clothes someday.
How I got started
At 19, I fell in love with several brands of clothing which were so similar to the styles I wanted to someday create! I am a HUGE lover of style and fashion in everyday life. No sweatpants over here! Don’t worry, I’m not judging anyone! I simply feel prettier, and the most normal and at home when in a dress, skirt, cute blouse and jeans, or anything put together and sweet. I love to work with beautiful fabrics and textures and layering to make the absolute most of every item in my closet.
These brands had just the sort of beautiful items I pictured wearing on the prairie, or in the kitchen while cooking dinner. Or maybe just for an evening out. I began styling them, wearing them, and selling them secondhand on my Instagram page. This was a very favorite hobby of mine - but I wanted to go further than selling secondhand.
My own brand
And now, all this time later, that dream has come true. I created my own brand. Wait… am I saying this for real right now?? Yes, I created my own brand. I want to bring to you the clothing line I have always wanted in MY closet. Pieces I always wish I had more of, or could come by more often! Pieces that are timeless and great for layering to make many different looks; durable to last the day, whilst still being feminine and beautiful.
All the styles on this site will pair wonderfully with slow fashion brands today. I created them just so, because I wanted items that fit with with everything both you and I already own and love! I want to bring to YOU some of my takes on our very favorite brands and styles.
