A little about me
I am 22 years old, and this is Dreaming of North - my new clothing line!
It might seem small for now, but I have BIG dreams for this page! So many styles, patterns, fabrics, and textures I want to bring to life here.
Sewing and style have been some of my very favorite hobbies for as long as I can remember. I always loved figuring out how many ways I could wear an outfit to make it look different, or how to sew a new piece on so I wouldn’t have to buy anything new. At 16, I began working professionally in the wedding dress alteration business with my sister and mom. I've altered countless beautiful wedding gowns and bridesmaid dresses down to the the perfect size, and I just knew I wanted to create my own beautiful clothes someday.
How I got started
At 19, I fell in love with several brands of clothing which were so similar to the styles I wanted to someday create! I am a HUGE lover of style and fashion in everyday life. No sweatpants over here! Don’t worry, I’m not judging anyone! I simply feel prettier, and the most normal and at home when in a dress, skirt, cute blouse and jeans, or anything put together and sweet. I love to work with beautiful fabrics and textures and layering to make the absolute most of every item in my closet.
These brands had just the sort of beautiful items I pictured wearing on the prairie, or in the kitchen while cooking dinner. Or maybe just for an evening out. I began styling them, wearing them, and selling them secondhand on my Instagram page. This was a very favorite hobby of mine - but I wanted to go further than selling secondhand.
My own brand
And now, all this time later, that dream has come true. I created my own brand. Wait… am I saying this for real right now?? Yes, I created my own brand. I want to bring to you the specifically curated pieces I have always wanted in MY closet. Pieces I always wish I had more of, or could come by more often! Pieces that are timeless and great for layering to make many different looks; durable to last the day, whilst still being feminine and beautiful. The Eve Blouse is the first of hopefully many Dreaming of North pieces!
The Eve Blouse design is meant to pair with all things cottage-core, and many slow fashion brands you see today. I created it just so, because I want only items that fit with with everything both you and I already own and love! I want to bring to YOU my take on our very favorite brands and styles.
